I couldn&#8217;t agree more. <\/p>\n<p>Just now I was listening to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?client=safari&#038;rls=en&#038;q=Everything+She+Wants+by+Wham!&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;oe=UTF-8\">Everything She Wants by Wham!<\/a> (1984) and for the first time picked up on its use of psychoaccoustic trickery.<\/p>\n<p>In the chorus that begins at 5m24s, you&#8217;ll hear a few angry exhortations to &#8220;Work!&#8221; mixed behind a synthetic hand clap in the left channel. It&#8217;s so subtle most people may not notice it\u00a0even though they may  be hearing \u2013\u00a0and thus, feeling \u2013 it. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a clever technique and one that has become commonplace in contemporary music as pop producers mix for headphones.
