The magic of the original Alien movie was largely <a href=\"http:\/\/morpheusgallery.com\/H.R.%20Giger\/item.php?work=9\">the alien<\/a> in all its unsubtle sexuality. That is, the <em>species will<\/em> or drive for self-preservation programmed into all life.  <\/p>\n<p>Yes, the movie <em>Prometheus<\/em> is about creation,\u00a0but, like its predecessors, its strongest when the creation being interrogated is literal, carnal. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prometheus-movie.com\/media\/sacrificial_engineer_prometheus2.jpg\">The Engineers<\/a> are, at best, the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elgin_Marbles\">decorations on a vase<\/a> for serving up the black goo at the heart of the story: the liquid Id.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/josemarquez.com\/etc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/necronom-vs-engineers-xenomorph.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"necronom-vs-engineers-xenomorph\" width=\"490\" height=\"326\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6659\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Like many, I found the sequence in which the new Ripley &#8220;hacks&#8221; a sexist computer to give herself an abortion to be the best and truest to form.
