I recently alluded to a rumor that the world\u2019s richest man uses \u201csock puppet\u201d accounts to defend his honor \u2013 not unlike John Barron, publicist extraordinaire<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That rumor was incorrect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, the world\u2019s richest man has managed to get real life people to perform that duty for him.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which leads me to a prediction<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

It will be very, very difficult to counter mass \u201cpersuasion\u201d campaigns that deploy AI\u2019s as people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you think advanced militaries are having a hard time fending off drones (they are), civil society is going to have a much harder time with the equivalent of drones operating in chat rooms, on so-called social media, and, soon, via video and image content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we get ready?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re going to have to pull out of some Internet spaces.1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will have to be abandoned as dangerous places where you can get jumped, hoodwinked, swindled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll have to build new spaces that are free of scams.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scams: crypto, mens rights, white pride, religious chauvinism, nationalism<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
You might ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Jose, who cares about online when people are dying on the street?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Virtual spaces create <\/em>real spaces.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
They do so by both modeling what society should be and building it, one ethical interaction at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no way out of our very real nightmare without working virtual places that humans can enter and exit freely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The word utopia<\/em> refers to a virtual place. The word heaven<\/em> refers to a virtuous place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You cannot have the virtuous without the virtual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The good news<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s never been easier to do build new spaces that are free. (Bluesky is case in point.<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While scrupulous operators will now have to be on guard against evermore nefarious bots, a majority of humans will continue to seek each other out as all mammals do.<\/strong>2<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is great interest in scam free societies. People do not want \u201censhitification<\/a>\u201d and vote with their feet if and when the market is free:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We are again ruled by con men.<\/a> Moral degenerates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To defend liberty and justice for all, the first and last contest will always be fighting for the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The so-called rebuttal<\/a> to the 1619 project, the completely disproportionate \u2013 indeed, hysterical <\/a>\u2013 response to the narrow excesses of Cancel Culture\u2122 and kabuki corporate DEI are attempts to deny the truth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
    The facticity of mass enslavement, a tiered justice system, a tiered labor force, the prevalence of gendered violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    (Remember: the likely SecDef endeared himself to Trump by denying war crimes.<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    You may protest: \u201cNo matter how many Jan 6 terrorists and\/or insurrectionists are pardoned, they won\u2019t succeed in rewriting history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    But as the Soviets and their successors in Russia have proven: con men do not need to rewrite history, they need only make it irrelevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Flood the zone.<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
    \u201cBoth sides<\/a>. Trust no one. Do your own research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    (Indeed, as the SCOTUS Originalists\u2122 have done.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Of course, paranoid societies<\/a> are ultimately doomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Low trust societies disintegrate in mass murder-suicides.4<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Paranoid and aggrieved people slip and slide<\/em> into genocide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Look at what Israel has done to Gaza. To name just one of very, very many examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    The First and Last Defense<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    The first and last defense against crime is the truth:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. researching and confirming the truth<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. remembering the truth<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      If the truth didn\u2019t matter, the fascists wouldn\u2019t build things like \u201cTruth Social\u201d and\/or buy up networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Without Fox News, America would be a wealthier, healthier place. (Immigrants<\/em><\/a> get the job done<\/em>, or something.)<\/p>\n\n\n

      Defending the truth means that<\/strong> we must remember that millions<\/a> died from COVID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      The anti-vax movement, now being ushered into power by useful idiots, would have us pretend otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Like so many other proto-fascist social movements, \u201canti-vax\u201d seeks dispensation from personal responsibility at the expense of others who are rendered less than equal and thus less than human.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Our society is rife with such selfishness, from the killer SUV movement<\/a> to the \u201cdrill baby drill\u201d movement to \u201cthe fuck your feeling but not my feelings\u201d movement to the \u201cbuild the wall\u201d movement.5<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Each and every one of these proto-fascist movements align in people wanting to be free of responsibility, of accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      They are represented, perfectly, by Donald J. Trump:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      He is now our elected leader. Hopefully not our last elected leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      People who joke about suspending elections are not serious about the power they wield. They abuse it. They cheat with it. They punish their personal enemies with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      We, good and decent people who do not cheat, lie and swindle, we must accept that we are fighting fascists<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      The nomenclature debate is done.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
      They are here. They are clear. Let\u2019s deal with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      We do that by telling the truth about the crimes being committed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      We talk publicly about the racketeering<\/a>,<\/a> the bribes<\/a>, the open corruption<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      If you think that being a patriot will endanger your economic prospects, congratulations: you have now accepted corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Ask the people of Mexico, India, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, etc\u2026 what it\u2019s like to overcome corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      If it sounds like the odds are stacked against you, you are wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      Remember: you are already on the winning side.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
      An anti-scamming, anti-spamming world is both possible and desirable<\/em> to the vast majority of humanity. Immigrants prove it by risking their lives to live in such a utopia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
      And it\u2019s already ours to preserve and protect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
